Pets are accepted for grooming only under the following circumstances….

 

—— Starlight Grooming Services are available by scheduled appointment only.  We strongly encourage our customers to book their next appointment at each grooming appointment for best availability.

 

—— We will call to confirm your grooming appointment the day before.  If you think you have a grooming appointment and do not hear from us to confirm by 5 PM the day before, please call us.

 

Something may be wrong in one of our schedules!

—— The pet is fit and healthy, Grooming which takes place on an elderly or infirm pet will be at the owner’s risk. Grooming may expose pre-existing health\skin conditions for which Starlight Grooming cannot be held liable.

 

—— The pet’s rabies vaccine is up to date (as required by law) unless otherwise discussed.

 

—— In the event of an emergency, in your absence, you authorize Starlight Grooming to contact the nearest Veterinarian and authorize the Vet to treat the pet as necessary at your expense.

 

—— Payment is to be made at the time of service. Payment can be cash, debit or credit card. Our rates are based on the size and weight of the pet and the type of coat. Nail cutting and ear cleaning are part of the service unless the process is too stressful for the pet or too dangerous for the groomer.

 

—— Dematting or complete coat removal will dramatically alter your pet’s appearance.

We will not demat a pet that is badly matted and has not been properly maintained.  Dematting can be inhumane and painful for an animal that is badly matted.  In this case we will strip/shave the dog by going underneath the mats. This procedure may expose pre-existing health\skin problems for which Starlight Grooming cannot be held liable.  A stripping release is required for this procedure.

 

—— Aggressive behavior. By scheduling an appointment, customers are confirming that their animal is not aggressive and should be well behaved enough so that we can complete our service in a timely manner.  Should we deem an animal’s behavior aggressive or unsuited for grooming, we reserve the right to end and potentially suspend offering our service.  If a customer confirms their animal is not aggressive, and we learn or feel otherwise, customer agrees to pay the full groom price and potentially any medical costs should they be required for a groomer. Service will also be suspended.  Bites will be reported to the local authorities.

 

—— We reserve the right to refuse service to any pet that has behavioral issues that may affect our safety or the safety of the animal.

 

—— Scheduled appointment times are best estimates and unforeseen factors can affect our daily planned schedule.  Arrival times can vary due to a variety of circumstances such as traffic, driving distances, and under and over running times required for our grooming service(s).  Should we anticipate being late or early to a scheduled groom, we will contact you as soon as possible to notify you. We value your time as much as ours and will make every attempt to keep to our schedule.

 

—— Cancellation’s made by our customers and / or the rescheduling of an appointment requires a 48 hour notice to waive a $35 appointment fee.  This fee must be paid prior to scheduling your next appointment.  If you need to cancel as a result of an emergency and there is less than 48 hours before your scheduled appointment, please call contact us, as the $35 fee may be waived.

 

—— Cancellations or reschedules by Starlight Grooming may be made should we experience an uncontrolled circumstance, emergency, equipment failure, illness or bad weather.  We do our best to maintain a responsible schedule and will notify you should we need to make a schedule change.

We also reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a groom if we feel the need to do so. Every effort will be made to reschedule at a time convenient for both the customer and Starlight Grooming.

 

—— No-Show’s.  A customer is considered a “no-show” when they are not available at the scheduled appointment time and does not contact us to cancel or reschedule.

 

No Shows or missed appointments will incur a minimum of $50 and up to a maximum of the full grooming fee due to the loss of revenue caused by a “no-show”. Please make every effort to call and cancel or reschedule when possible to avoid such situations. This fee must be paid before you will be able to schedule your next grooming appointment.

We also reserve the right to set and increase our prices at any time as well as annually based on cost(s) of doing business.

Fleas !!!– Please inspect your animal for fleas and if find some on your dog, please add on the Flea Shampoo Add-on. It does come at an additional cost based on weight and size. If we arrive and find fleas on your pet, we will have to charge an additional flea shampoo fee.

SKUNK SPRAYED — Sorry, but Starlight Grooming does not service dogs that have been sprayed by a Skunk! If you are requesting bathing and/or grooming services because your dog has been sprayed, we will have to decline. If we arrive and the dog has a skunk odor, we will have to charge a minimum trip fee of $25 and we will not be able to work with the pet until the odor is no longer present.
